Bug Adventures: Book 2: Gary's Mystery

Book 2: Gary’s Mystery
It was the night of June 1st. Wendy had just came into the police office, crying. Gary Grasshopper went and asked her to say what happened
She said that someone came out of the dark and attacked her! They hit her and she got hurt
Gary calmed Wendy, then went with her to the spot she was attacked. He didn’t see anyone, but he did find some white string and a small circle in the mud. “It must be a footprint” Gary said
He sent Wendy home, then went home to study the string
The string was white, and Gary knew that very few bugs could make strings like this. So, Gary went out to ask them about it.
First, he asked Bell butterfly. “Is this part of your cocoon?” he asked. “No” she said
Then he asked his friend, Sam Spider. “Is this some of your web?” Gary asked. “Yes, but I didn’t hurt Wendy” said Sam. So Gary kept looking
Gary tried to think of anyone else with web, but couldn’t. So, he decided to ask about the footprint.
He went to ask Cory Cockroach, but Cory’s foot was long, and wouldn’t make a circle. He said sorry to Cory and left
Gary was confused. Who’s footprint was it? He went to ask Sam again, because Sam had circular feet.
Again, Sam said he didn’t attack Wendy at night. Gary was confused though. He never said Wendy’s name. How did Sam know?
At the station, Gary thought. Sam had webs like the string, Sam had footprints like the one he found, and Sam knew that Wendy was attacked! It was Sam!
Gary hopped over to Sam’s house really fast and burst through the door. Sam was holding Wendy, about to eat her!
Gary kicked Sam and stopped him from hurting Wendy. Later, Sam was put in jail for life.
