New Word: Dictionary

Finally, a fun school project! Make a dictionary of 10+ words made up of 2 or more word parts. I could have put them all separate, but that takes too long. Also, being me, I had to put them in a little book.

Ambiderm
  • Noun
  • am-beh-durm
  • A creature that crawls around on people’s or animal’s skin
  • My dog has bad ambiderms, causing him to scratch himself constantly. I think they are ticks hiding under his fur on his skin.

Beneaus
  • Noun
  • Ben-A-oss
  • Beautiful sound
The pianist filled the air with a beneaus that made everyone dance with joy.
Devivacred
  • Noun
  • dev-eve-a-creed
  • The belief that the Earth’s core is full of living creatures
  • Jim’s devivacred got out of control when he tried to dig through our floor to talk to the creatures in the core.

Hydropolis
  • Noun
  • Hi-drop-o-liss
  • An underwater city
The submarine explored the hydropolis and its fishy inhabitants. Their architecture was amazing, especially with the ability to withstand the water.

Hyperpondulous
  • Adjective
  • hi-per-pond-U-luss
  • Extremely heavy
  • The crane tried to lift the hyperpondulous rock, but it bent the metal and snapped the metal rope.

Morpathy
  • Noun
  • more-puh-thie
  • Grieving and sadness for someone after their death
Mary felt morpathy for Jim when he was murdered, hoping he wasn’t in as much pain that she was.

Novinoxic
  • Verb
  • naw-vi-knocks-ick
  • Gaining more or new amounts of night-time/darkness
  • The days get novinoxic when winter comes and there is less day-time to enjoy.

Paracratic

  • Adj
  • pear-uh-crat-ic
  • An over extensive and invading system of ruling, being beside everyone always
  • My parents are paracratic, always being beside me whenever I do anything

Pedaladormy
  • Adjective
  • puh-dall-uh-dorm-E
  • When you are unable to move your foot, caused by either injury or being trapped
  • He got up, but almost fell over because of the stiff, pedaladormy feeling in his foot.

Pelepigeotra
  • Verb
  • pel-A-pea-gie-o-tra
  • Moving across the ground or surface of the earth
  • My car is excellent at pelepigeotra and moving me anywhere I want on Earth.

Pseudodicteum
  • Noun
  • Sue-doe-dic-tomb
  • a lie to make someone feel better, or to better a situation; a little white lie
  • When Jim asked what his birthday gift was, I lied and told him a Pseudodicteum, so that he could enjoy the surprise.

Revoromnial
  • Adjective
  • rev-or-om-Neal
  • Restricted to consuming and digesting already eaten or used materials; decomposers
  • The baby bird had not yet grown out of its revoromnial phase, and still required pre-chewed food.
