No Crosses

I thought it would be fun to try to write a story without using some letter in any of the words. I analyzed some of my writings and found that I generally use 't' the most, so here is my attempt at a story without using any 't's. I gave up after a little bit because it was so hard and I had no idea where I was hoping to go with the plot.

You now read a novel of a man who desired living alone, as pure soul, being a spook, or a shadow. Because of his desire and newfound dislike of religion, he has asked of me: refrain from including a specific symbol in my words, one resembling a cross. You may ask, who would ask for such a wild change? Well, his name is Will, and I vow his life and dreams will be known.

For many people, being killed is horrifying. As you'll soon see, one man feels no fear. Even crazier, he hopes for his demise. His name is Will, and here is his legend: We begin when Will was only a boy, and living in a small house alongside his four siblings. Each had a name and a life, only none are crucial for our fable. Will's real friend was his dog, a small puppy which he named Pepper. Pepper was very loyal, and loved being walked by Will. Side by side, dog and man, walking and dreaming. One day, a dark shadow suddenly scurried around Will. Pepper was scared, barking wildly in fear. Will spun around, searching for whoever crossed him. He peered down where he had walked, only seeing a small bird. Will remembered no bird, and knew he should be suspicious. Pepper walked around a now furious bird. He hopped away from Pepper, only now being cornered by Will. "Who are you?" Will asked. No response. "Are you a shapechanger? Why are you here?". Again, no response. Pepper was very jumpy now, and decided he should pounce. Pepper used his lips, nabbing a very scared bird. Again a surprise, as bird became man, and Pepper's jaw was pried open explosively. A slimy man now lay on Will's shoes, whose skin was smokey gray and lacked mass. He crawled away from Will, only having Pepper grab his leg and pull him back. He had no desire for humans or dogs, and vaporized. Will was amazed. How could such a being be here, in a world of science and logic? And soon, he was wondering a worse idea. How could he have powers? Pepper shook his head, seemingly reading Will's mind. "Your ideas will only bring you sorrow." Pepper spoke.

Will flinched and fell backwards. "Pepper? You can speak?"

"Be warned, my child. A journey for power can only end in your demise. Greed will always require exceedingly larger evils. And as I have failed in my job of saving you, I will now leave your side,
