Anarchy in an hour

Your teacher falls asleep in class... what anarchy ensues?

Anarchy in an Hour
As the movie continued, kids begin to nod their heads and think of far off places. They fall asleep in groups, each one not able to keep their friends awake.
Soon, half of the class is asleep and the teacher is too tired to notice. She too begins to drift off, leaning her head on her hand. The kids still awake slowly realize and watch in anticipation as the teacher lays her head on the desk and begins snoring.
Quietly, the kids shake their neighbors awake, each one waking those around them. One kid lets out a laugh when he sees the teacher, but is very quickly shushed by the rest of the class.
Kids start hopping around, whispering to their friends and dancing around the room.
They throw paper airplanes and go through the teachers cabinets, looking for fun. One kid finds a box of mints and soon the whole class is running around on a sugar high.
One kid rips of his shirt off and begins running around wielding a broken pair of scissors as a sword. He gets in a fight with a kid with a pencil over the last mint and pencil kid ends up getting cut along his hand.
The rest of the class goes mad at the sight of blood, jumping up and down and climbing all over desks, all the while being quiet enough to not wake the teacher. They scramble for their own supplies and soon form three clans. Penzell, Sessor, and Marcor, the last of which being the most deadly.
The Marcor attacks were indirect, using a tube of color to shame the other creatures. They would be cast out of their own tribe and left to starve. Some did not survive the extreme embarrassment and died of shame.
Battles ensued across the classroom, the desks being tipped and used as barricades. Paper became a form of currency, as it was the main form of communication.
Javalines were thrown across the room, stabbing and killing all in their path. The cabinets were searched again, and they began putting things together to create even deadlier weapons.
A catapult launched balloons full of ink, string was tied to create a bow and arrow, and all this time they continued to die. A Sessor figured out flight and created a paper airplane that would drop clouds of miniature needles onto the unsuspecting below.
As the weapons continued to evolve, even deadlier weapons came into existence. Soon, a Marcor created the ultimate weapon. A bomb, that when detonated would fill the air with inescapable ink. All caught in it would perish.
A few members of the tribes tried to negotiate for peace, more willing to lose their war than die of embarrassment. But the Marcor did not listen.
The bomb was launched on the 17th of 11. It flew through the air and crashed into the center of the room.
A tremendous wave of ink and wind blew everywhere. All present were branded with its inky death.
As the echoes resided, the people of Treofore realized what they had done.
The teacher sat up and rubbed their eyes. She looked around at the tribes, covered in ink and candy wrappers. Some were holding knives and others were laying on the floor bleeding.
She closed her eyes, put her head on the desk, and the realm of Treofore was plunged once more into war.

Love Short Story Entry: Love Bites.

Here is a strange story for valentines day. Yes, it is late, but it is better than nothing. Also, never ask me for love advice, or you will get something like this.

Love Bites
By Jake Swartwout

The small back door squeaked open, revealing the interior of the bakery. A short girl struggled with the door and stepped outside, her pale skin seeming to glow in the darkness of the alley. She lifted the lid to a lone metal trashcan and stared into its emptiness, thinking.
Her bag enticed her to save it, smelling of sweet vanilla and sugar. She struggled with the decision, almost opening it up and eating the food inside. Her mind went back and forth, over and over, before finally she threw it in and slammed the lid.
She went back into her shop, the door swooshing shut behind her. Her soft cries could be heard from the alley.
The trashcan she used began to shake back and forth, then started violently rattling. It shook violently and the lid fell off onto the ground. A thing slowly unraveled itself from the interior and flopped onto the ground. Gradually, it took the shape of a man, snapping its limbs into place with fierce motions.
‘He’ picked up the bag and sniffed it. After a little thought, it tore the bag open with incredible strength, spraying the small cakes everywhere. He picked one up and slowly took a bite, its eyes widening.
“This is it. She’s using it.” It growled
A figure in the shadows shuffled, then responded
“I see. We shall have to execute her. Stay here and wait.”
“Yes, sir.”
And it coiled down back into the trashcan.

Jeff walked away from the shop and got in his car. He flipped through his key ring trying to find the right one. He shivered with the cold wind and looked around the car for the right key.
He was about to try one when he heard a scream.
He jumped, banging his head on the ceiling. He fiddled with the door and managed to get it open. The scream came again, this time from the alley. He recognized the voice! It was Taylor!
He sprinted harder and skidded around the corner.
Taylor was cornered, surrounded by 2 grotesque beings. She was trying to shrink away into the corner, clutching her bag of trash tighter.
He yelled.
They were on him.
He punched and kicked, trying to get their claws away from him. Their teeth were like saws, gouging out chunks of skin. He grabbed a pole and smashed it into the smaller one’s head.
It dissolved into smoke that got into his lungs and made him cough. The darker, larger one materialized out of the smoke and viciously slashed his face, tearing skin and knocking out teeth.
He collapsed and battled to stay awake. He saw the beast jumping away, drops of blood falling and sizzling on the ground.
Taylor ran over and hugged him, trying to wake him up.
He lifted his head, groggily saying: “I did it”
She gasped and cried out with joy. She pressed her face against his and kissed him passionately.
Some blood dripped from his teeth.
She pulsed, shuddering and cringing. She fell against the ground screaming, her jaw clenching and shaking. Her teeth slid around as screams flew by.

She was on him, mouth at his neck, this time him screaming.

Bug Adventures: Book 9: Charles' Uprising

Book 9:
Carrie Cockroach listened carefully as her dad Cory talked. He was telling her about the dusty old medal hanging on the wall, that belonged to her far off ancestor, Charles Cockroach.
“Charles lived in a time when Bugtown was Bug-Ville and ruled by King and Queen snake. They were bad rulers and ate the bugs that tried to get them to be fair.
Charles family was very poor, but the Snakes didn't care. They still tried to make him pay taxes, and soon, Charles family didn’t have any food.
One night when Charles was laying in bed, hungry, he had an idea. He decided to stop the Snakes. He collected a small amount of food and set off on his adventure.
Charles wrote a note so his parents would know where he was, then started walking towards the giant castle that the Snakes lived in. He decided to sneak attack them at night, so that he could teach them a lesson.
It took him a while to get to the castle, but when he got there he was angry. He had forgotten about getting in! He sat there trying to think of how he could get in until a guard came.
"Move along bug." George Guard said. Charles apologized quickly but didn't know where George had come from. He looked where the guard was walking away from, and knew how he would get in.
He picked up a heavy rock and hit George on the head. He fell down and Charles was able to take his uniform. Very quietly, Charles snuck in the Guards entrance.
Quickly and quietly, Charles crept down the halls of the castle and to the Royal chamber. He took out the sword he got from the Guard and ran out into the middle of the room.
“Surrender Snakes!” He called out. But, he was shocked to find that the King and Queen weren’t alone! Their Evil Sorcerer Samuel the Spider was there too! He saw Charles and started waving his wand.
A magic orb flew at Charles and he ducked away. It hit a pot behind him and made it a cup! It would not be good for Charles to be hit, so he ran around the room, just barely avoiding the orbs.
Suddenly, Charles dodged out of the way and it hit the Snakes! They transformed into harmless June-Bugs. They couldn’t eat any bugs now.
Later that day, the town rejoiced at their new freedom. The castle was opened and there was a feast of all the extra food the Snakes had been hiding. Charles was given a medal for being so brave and saving Bug-ville.
And that is where the medal came from.” Cory finished. Carrie would have been amazed, if she hadn’t fallen asleep on the couch. Cory picked her up and carried her to her room with a smile on his face.

Transformations Aren't All That Bad

Transformations Aren’t All That Bad
By Jake Swartwout
As told by documents recovered from various locations

Emails sent from Phil to his Mom
Dear Mom,
I really need your advice. Yesterday while I was walking, I slipped and fell in some ooze. It was gross and smelly and I hurried home to wash it off. Later, my skin was all itchy. I don’t know if I should see a doctor, or whether you have some remedy for this.
Don’t worry too much,
Phil

Dear Mom,
Thanks for that ointment you sent me, but it doesn’t seem to be working. In fact, it caused gross patches of hair to sprout everywhere. I don’t know what is happening! I think I might go see a doctor soon, so if you don’t hear from me for a while, that is why.
On the road to recovery,
Phil

Dear Doctor Biggle Von Wiggle,
Recently, I have had a really bad rash. I put some of my mom’s ointment on it, and I started sprouting so much hair it was like I had fur. Please make an appointment for me to come in and see you sometime.
-Phil McGreggan

Doctor’s Report

Patient Name: Phil McGreggan
D.O.B.: 12-23-34 Gender: M Date: 03-24-55
Doctor’s Assessment: This is a very strange case. It appears that Phil’s mother had been giving him some sort of ointment that causes sudden and unpredictable hair growth (unpredictable, because it has never happened before). I have sent a sample of it and Phil’s blood down to the lab to see if they can make heads or tails of it. I am assuming that for the next day or so, I shall have to cancel all of my appointments and spend the day calling other doctors and doing some research. I hope that I will find out what is wrong with Phil and be able to help him recover.

Diary Entry of Taxi Driver Ed

Dear Diary,
Today was the strangest day ever. First, some guy came in trying to get to a street that didn’t exist. He gave it away with all of the laughing, so I dumped him out of the car. Next, some weird dude came in wearing some kind of mask, that made his face all hairy. I sighed and drove him to where he was going. He opened the window during the ride and some of the fur from the mask blew all over and made me choke. I was glad when he finally left, except that his seat was all covered with fur! Did he work at a barbershop or have too many cats? I cleaned it up, but another rider refused to take my cab because it smelled of hair. So, I spent the rest of the day trying to get the smell out. I hate picky customers.

Police Report of Officer Jim

Time: 14:51
Officer: Jim Nootle
Report of Event: This was the strangest situation I’ve ever had. After getting a call from a girl saying she heard screaming from her neighbor’s house, we zipped on over with the sirens blaring. We broke open the door and ran towards the sound of sobbing, coming from an upstairs bedroom. Me, Johnson, Curt, and Gary ran upstairs to nab what we thought was a thief. But instead, we found a single man. He was laying on the floor, all covered with fur. We thought it was some sort of sick joke, until we noticed the nose. The man didn’t appear to have a nose, well, human nose. We found a shriveled lump of skin nearby that we think might have been his nose. How long he was laying there, and who would do this to him, I don’t want to know.

Dr. Biggle Von Wiggle Health
Patient Name: Phil McGreggan
D.O.B.: 12-23-34 Gender: M Date: 03-29-55
Doctor’s Assessment: Phil’s case is getting even stranger. After I got his email, I rushed over to his house, only to find the police there. To my astonishment, Phil’s nose really had fallen off! I was astonished and scared, afraid to do anything else to Phil. I think he blames it on me, but I don’t see how taking some blood could do this to a man. He has begun to resemble a cat! I have no idea what is happening, but I know that I must make sure it doesn’t spread. I have decided to send him away to a government run facility built for dealing with problems like this. I hope they treat him well, and if they don’t, all I can do is apologize. The government is strange in that respect. I hope that they are able to determine Phil’s problem, and treat it too.

Letter to TUMI, Treatment of and for Unusual Medical Issues

TUMI,
I am sending you my patient of whom I have no idea how to diagnose. He came to me about a week ago with a problem of rash and full body hair growth. Then, his nose shriveled and fell off, leaving a strangely animalistic nose. We took him in and put him in an isolation chamber, where he shall remain until we send him to you. We drew a sample of his blood and will include it in the shipping. We found some toxin that we weren’t able to identify, and the slight change of the blood cells. I sincerely hope that you can help him with his problem and restore him back to normal life.
-Dr. Biggle Von Wiggle

Patient Report From TUMI

Patient #: 4982634975
Diagnostic: Patient number 4982634975 is doing surprisingly well for just being on the edge of trauma. After the first day, he was already walking around his room, looking rather bored. So, we decided to let him out and converse with the other patients. Soon, they were laughing and joking like kids and given him the nickname ‘Kittykins’ based on his cat-like appearance. There are no signs of further mutations, other than the roughening of his hands, into pads like a cat. What caused these strange mutations, we don’t know. But, patient number 4982634975 has expressed great concern about getting out and back to the world. We have had a conference, and decided to release him after a week without mutations, if he feels ready. We are making sure that he really does what to do this, as he will never be able to go back to normal life unless he is cured. That is, if there is a way to cure him.

Kittykin’s Journal

Dear Journal,
The doctors have agreed to let me go with conditions. I keep this journal (almost had to keep a diary), I live within a 5 mile radius of the hospital, and I come back if anything at all happens. I don’t really like writing though. My fingers have gotten shorter and stiffer and it has become very difficult to hold a pencil. I have barely gotten used to my change. Sometime, it feels like yesterday that I was human. I lie in bed remembering. Then other days, it feels like it has been ages. I remember everything that I’ve gone through and try to find how it could have not even been a month. Time is a confusing thing for one to ponder over. I think I shall stop now, in order to prevent my brain from exploding.

Today was my first day out of the house I chose and TUMI bought for me. I decided to see what the public response to my new figure was, which was a bad idea. First, people screamed. Then, they cried. Next, they tried to hurt me or chase me away. Finally, they called the local authorities and I had to show them my TUMI papers to show that it was okay for me to exist. Some people. Once this was explained to them though, they calmed down greatly and became very interested in me. They looked me over, I meowed for them (even though I wouldn’t normally), and they clapped and laughed. That was when I was inspired. I would be an entertainer! I was so eager, I came straight home and wrote it down here, so my kitten of a memory wouldn’t fail me. Tomorrow, I shall start a life of fame!

I awoke early next morning excited. I couldn’t wait to eat some kibbles! Wait… no… I wanted eggs. With bacon. Or maybe just bacon. I think I ate lots of meat, and soon threw up. I must get used to this ‘no self control’ thing. Anyway, sick and ready to work, I created a sign out of some paper I found and headed out. I performed for people all day, and once they got over the shock of a cat-person, they loved me. I made so much money, I could buy a whole new refrigerator full of meat.

Today I got to eat lots of meat again. I went down to town and was met with a cheering crowd. Everyone loved me! I performed my juggling act and they roared for me (They seemed to be more animal than me, I think). I was a star. Also, apparently, someone put me online and now I am an internet star too! Throughout the day, I was getting tons of letters, phone calls (which I answered ‘meowllo?’), and ding-dongs of the doorbell which opened to show crowds of my cheering fans. To be honest, I think time is messing with me again, because this was all in one day. Was the world really that ‘awesome part-cat part-human creature thing’ deprived that they went crazy in just one day? The world is a confusing place.

Today I got the scientists’ (at TUMI) permission to fly out to New York. I got invited to do a TV show interview. I used the money I got in the mail to buy an airplane (you have to do that to travel, right? I keep forgetting) and fly out to New York. The plane I bought came with a personal chef, who kept feeding me delicious shrimp. He tried to make me eat a red sauce I thought was blood, but it wasn’t. So, I was sad the whole plane ride.

In New York, I was greeted by more screaming fans. They pushed and shoved, and almost made my airplane tip over. I was so scared! Luckily, some police came and pushed out a path through the people for me. I took a taxi over to the studio and had a pleasant evening with a nice man. The crowd kept screaming though and I was afraid of the cameras, but I got over it only partially deaf. For being on the show, he gave me a floppy piece of paper I almost threw away, before I remembered it was called a check, and it was worth money. I brought it to my bank and they threw several bags of cash into the Kittykins vault, which somehow had gotten more money that the normal vault of the bank. I went to the beach-side mansion I bought (I feel like I should have gotten something called a hotel, but I didn’t remember what it was so I just bought a mansion. You can’t have too many mansions.) and relaxed the rest of the day. Being famous is hard work.

Today I was bored (no interviews), so I bought a submarine and cruised around in it. I sent out my helicopter (I didn’t want anyone to have to ride in an airplane with sad shrimp) to pick up my friend Timer Tim (who changed personalities every 4.398 hours exactly, for no apparent reason). He was released a day or two before me, only needing to have one bodyguard. It wasn’t long before my helicopter got back carrying its payload. Me and Tim had an extremely fun time on the beach, for about… 4.3979999 hours, before he changed into ‘Sad and Moody Tim’. I went back to my mansion and called the exterminator to get rid of the reporters I found hiding under my bed.

I had a restless sleep last night. I tossed and turned, haunted by the sounds of vacuums and news reporters. Today, I decided to do something about it. I got Tim, my 5 refrigerators full of meat, and my mousy toy, then got into my submarine. I was getting away from this madness. I glided away, without a care in the world.

After a few wonderful days of relaxing under the sea, I have begun to get worried. Food has been going missing (even though I mastered self control), I have heard noises at night, and I keep seeing shadows. Has someone found us already? I tried calling to them, but they didn’t respond. I don’t know what to do.

Today, Tim has gone missing. I searched all over the ship for him, before noticing that two of the three scuba suits I have are missing. Someone must have kidnapped Tim. I am mad with grief and worry. I don’t know what to do.

3 days have passed since Tim went missing. I think it was the captain that took him, because the ship has begun a slow descent towards the sea floor. Why they would want to kidnap Tim, I don’t know. I am just afraid that something might hurt him. I would never forgive myself.

Today, I attempted to put the sub on the correct course. I looked at the thousands of buttons on the panel and randomly pushed a few. I must have done something wrong because a hissing sound has started and water is dripping in from somewhere. I decided that it was best just to leave it. I have the feeling that I am forgetting some way of getting out, but my mind has begun to fail me too. Maybe the captain of memories has left too, kidnapping happiness for no reason but to make mr. brain angry.

I have begun to sing away my sadness. I sing, and it fills the ship with the vibrations of song. I feel the sadness flowing out of me, until I hear the depressing echoes of an empty ship and I am filled up twice over. I don’t know if I will live. It doesn’t matter anymore. The public must hate me, the bank must have given away all my money, and Tim is most likely dead.

Today, I could see the sea floor. It is about a foot away, and we will reach it in a day or two. I hope I die sooner than later. I tried messing with the buttons again, this time turning a knob and flipping some switches, but instead it just made the seafloor rush by quicker. I think I have done something wrong. Mousy toy would probably know.

It is the middle of the night and I have just been awoken by a loud bang. I go to the front of the sub and see that it has smashed into a rock and water is flowing in quickly. I jump away quickly. Water scares me more than ever now. I am writing this so that people will know what has happened to me. I think my fridge is waterproof. I’ll put this in there. Goodbye, cruel world.

Destiny

Destiny
By Jake Swartwout
Destiny Hanes was a somewhat ordinary girl. She had brownish red hair and a smile always on her face. He life was ordinary all except for her birth.
Like all other newborn babies, the prophet had visited her house to tell her what her future was.
But, unlike all other newborn children, her parents had angered a wizard. When he had heard they were going to have a child, he rushed immediately to their humble abode.
He crashed in right in the middle of the righting and killed the prophet on the spot. He then stuffed the unfinished prophecy into the unfinished lock box, sealing her fate.
Destiny didn’t know her fate yet, but she knew it was a bad one. What if it was going to say how she would die at age 200, but it only said 2? Or what if it was just gibberish saying how she would live a lon?
So every year, her parents waited for the day the box would open, signifying that her fate was soon to come.
She tried to not worry. She knew that there was such a high chance that it would just say that she would. Would as in would do whatever she wanted.
She was glad she had her friends to help her feel better. Since pre-school, the had always hung out together and had a great time. Now, you could always find them at each others houses or doing something together.
But it wasn’t until July 1st that they all were really connected.
That day, all of her friends were missing from school. The next day, they all came to school, excited about something.
Destiny asked them why and got the most stunning answer. They had all received their fates. At the same time.
Each one of them said that they got home the previous night and at 3:59, they heard their boxes click. Each one of them called their parents, went over, and opened the box.
Inside, it read:

At the Age of (they each got different ages), you will not be able to die.

While they did some calculating, Destiny laughed, remembering that she was the oldest by at least a year. Her friends ungrouped and came over to her. They had spied out the dates with their birthdays and found that it would be sometime between January 7th or January 21st.
This made Destiny really nervous. It was so close!
All of her best friends had gotten the same prophecy. That means she would have gotten it too, if it weren’t for that wizard.
What did she get? At the Age of 18, you will not be? At the Age of 18, you will not? At the Age of 18, you will not be able? Was she somehow going to give her life so her friends could be immortal?
She tried to shake off that ominous feeling of dread but it still clung to her. She decided to go home and investigate the box.
When she got home, she went immediately to the high shelf holding the box. She carefully lifted it down and inspected all sides of it.
Everything looked in order, but if it was, it would be open. She checked everything again. The hinge, the lock, the legs, the softly ticking clock.
She was still amazed how that little clock could tell the exact spot in time. She looked closer, trying to tell the time. It showed that it was December 19th, at 3:46 and 15 seconds, in the year 2013.
Now wait, she clearly remembered celebrating the new year. She went over to the large hall clock to compare.
The clock showed that it was January 2nd, at 3:46 and 16 seconds. The box’s clock was 2 weeks slow, and would force her to wait 2 weeks before she could see her prophecy.
She sat and puzzled about her prophecy a bit more but she was interrupted by her parents.
Bursting into the door, the whipped their heads around until they saw Destiny. She got up to see what was wrong, but was instead met by a bounty of hugs, kisses, and tears.
She backed away, confused by this strange behavior.
Finally, after a long while, her parents recovered enough to talk. They told her how they had brought all of their money to pay their rent. But yet again, the amount was raised and this time it was too much. Their landowner, the angry wizard that ruined Destiny’s life, decided to pay off the last of their expense by coming to kill Destiny.
Destiny, afraid and confused, hugged her parents closer. This might be the last time she saw them.
But she couldn’t just stand there and do nothing! She had to save herself! Defeat the wizard!
She broke out of her hug and rushed to her room. She picked out things to wear, like her thick jacket and tough boots. She went to the kitchen next to grab a few knives and some matches.
She explained quickly to her parents her plan for defeating the wizard before she rushed out the door.
It was a long hike to the wizards castle, so she decided to ask her friends for help. She ran to each of her friends house and each one of them said yes. They would help her. She even got a car to carry her up to the wizards castle.
She got to the top and looked in the door. Quickly, she told her friends her plan. One was sent off to create a distraction while the rest snuck in.
Inside, they immediately went in search of the wizard. ‘He should be in his tower by now,’ Destiny told her friends.
They regrouped and started heading up the stairs. The stair creaked, the broke. The girls went falling. It was a trap!
The wizard was standing there, looking through the bars of the cage.
“I knew you would come here. That is why I prepared.” He said. “Now to eliminate you forever!”
The wizard took out his wand and cast a spell.
Back at Destiny’s house, the box clicked open. Her parents looked inside.
It read:
You will Become a Bus D
They cried. Why would that happen? Did the wizard get her? Is that why her friends wouldn’t be able to die?

Her parents were sad, but they tried to move on. They did get a free bus.

Pretzels for Science

Do you like quick and easy to make pretzels? No? Well then, you need to try... Jake & Co.'s Super Delicious Pretzel Recipe! Here is how it goes:

Step 1: Mix tons of stuff that might be in a pretzel like eggs and sugar and butter and stuff.

Step 2: Squint your eyes until it looks like a pretzel

Step 3: While still squinting, bake it at 4000000000 degrees Celsius for 5 days straight, or until your heating device breaks or catches something on fire. If something does catch on fire, put it out or call the fire department.

Step 4: If you have stopped squinting because of your fire problems, start again. Or, if you are a weirdo who doesn't like squinting for 5 days straight, form whatever is left of your pretzels into a pretzel shape. If only a gas or some plasma is left, cool it until it can be molded into a pretzel shape.

Step 5: Add, mix in, or inject so much salt into what is left that some of the salt chemically combines with the pretzels to create a new element.

Step 6: Show some scientist guys your new element.

Step 7: Get rich by creating a new element and use some of your newly found money to buy a pretzel from a pretzel stand in the mall.
